I think the absolute best thing about this movie is that it is a pleasure to see that there are some people who are still backing up great make-up and physical effects with the support of CGI for larger effects rather than a whole fake-feeling all CGI movie. It is much more visceral that way. That said, I loved this movie visually more but enjoyed the first one story-wise more as it had less "hokey" elements.
