I have terrible handwriting. I didn't use a pencil for writing until I was seven & didn't even think of touching a pen until I was 13. I learned my ABCs on a Spectrum ZX at home & an Acorn BBC Micro at school. It was the eighties, we were told we'd do everything on computers in the future.
