What do you use to 'do midis'? Just General MIDI patches on your soundcard? Or hardware? Fruityloops is a pretty powerful tool that nobody takes seriously. I love it... I never use soundfonts though, just .wav's. Soundfonts are cool cuz they're so small but if you want to edit them it's a pain.

I'd like to spend more time with Propellerheads Reason... I hear it ruins Fruity.

I use music masterworks to make midis. The program is genious if you want to compose things. But Fruityloops makes no sense, I just want to map an instrument on a piano roll, I JUST WANT A NORMAL PIANO. But noooo, they have techno beats and this and that and I can't find any tutorials and it makes me want to rip my hair out.



Can you help? I don't want to make techno by downloading loops I didn't make and mixing them, that takes no talent. I want to compose a song, even techno, but I don't know how.
