Location: Where I Started But In A Different Place

Keeping in mind that they are technically comabatants and not U.S. citizens, I have a few questions. Why is the U.S. held to a higher standard than the rest of the world in this regard. Would we, even in industrialized nations, be treated any better taking into reason behind their incarceration. Disregarding the fact that we may have lied about that, of course.
