BEYOND BUSH - election & impeachment predictions

All of our candidates suck, so I don't really care who wins the election. But let me ask you this: what would you do if you knew about 9/11 before hand and were the president?

You see, telling the people would cause mass hysteria and would probably lead Osama to kick his operation into high-gear. Starting a war without going through the usual process (UN appeal, etc.) would get the entire world pissed, and likely no evidence could be found. It might have even triggered the third world war. If the usual process was started it would take too long, and would either cause 1) the attack to be triggered or 2) be an Iraq war, where things were suspected but no hard evidence could be found. Besides, even though hi-jacking was suspected, for all that was really known a nuke could have been already in country, in which case saying something would only speed up the attack.

The only real thing to do was to sit on his hands and wait for more info.
