Zebra mussels damaged a large portion of the fish population of the Great Lakes. I could see the difference even within my lifetime. Thankfully, they've found ways to control the zebra mussle population and some of the fish population is on a gradual upswing. The alarming part is how quickly the mussel fish impacted the area.
