It was just too over the top. Anybody who has ever taken LSD will tell you that. In his writing I don't think it was meant to be taken so literally. I'm guessing he wasn't impressed because he wasn't expecting a wardrobe rip from the set of
"Dinosaurs". It just seemed ridiculous. I liked the other attempts at visualising the experience, just not that scene.
