In other news (who cares?) I asked a lady out for a date and she didn't say no and said yes in a way that is close enough to 'yes' for me to be happy about.

Mate, I think my wallet is my strong point here. It's not all about looks, personality, charm, style and sense of humour - thank god.

She was busy this weekend, and so net weekend it is... but I think I have given her too much time to think up a good excuse to get out of it, so I might see if I can't get something informal during the week. Guilting her into saying yes because she feels sorry for me is the ace up my sleeve; I will see her on Thursday no matter what, so if she doesn't say "Yeah... ok, why not?" then it will be awkward!
