Being forever fascinated / semi-obsessed with sharks and marine life in general, it's sad to hear that Peter Benchley just died (age 65). JAWS is still easily one of my all-time favorite movies.

Interesting side note: Jaws died from a harpoon in the book, and not the exploding scuba tank from the movie.


And people that haven't seen a movie made in the 70s don't get spoiler warnings.

If jaws died in Jaws 1, why are there sequels. Its part of what I call the HIGHLANDER PARADOX Where there is an absolute ending to a film but they continue the series to make more money.[/u]

I know, seriously. How could there be sequels if they killed off the one and only Great White shark in the entire ocean?
