I started playing Dwarf fortress a few days ago. I only made enough space for the dwarves that I had and then the migrants came and they're all lye makers and other useless shit, and we're running out of food. Anyone got any good ideas?

I don't think I've ever seen a fortress past a single season :<

I always start out by digging out and stockpiling and shit, but there either aren't enough trees, or I forgot to bring tools and shite to fashion floors and tables and everything, or there's not enough food, or crops can't grow, and a bunch of other shit that just makes me go "Bah, forget it."

Reading Boatmurdered is about the extent of my Dwarf Fortress experience.

Maybe we could start an I-Mock succession game and see how badly we can fuck up!
