He's gay. Big deal. Why quit?

How can someone who obviously thinks so much of their ideas have so little respect for expressing them? How can someone who so yearns to be taken seriously make so little effort?!

I'm pretty sure its about a finacial scandal and not merely because he had a gay affair. We shall find out soon enough.

ya but being gay means a lot to constituents. i personally wouldn't care but i don't live in jersey and the rest of the country thinks otherwise. it sucks that he had to admit all of this on camera. i feel bad for the guy and his family. he got caught having an affair and had to have his nose rubbed in it on tv. i felt the same way about clinton. personal issues shouldn't be aired in public like that.

there's a lot of hypocrisy out there. i wonder out of everyone in the senate and congress, just how many haven't dallied outside of their marriage. and why some politicians are ostracized for coming out while others were elected by voters knowing they were openly gay. and why some senators and congressmen are known to be gay but support the ban on same-sex marriage.

i thought it was shocking news that he had to step down for this. i guess as an agent of the constituency he found it best. i wonder how the jerseyans are going to take it.

I think it was because it was due to alligation of sexual harrasment or something like that, He also said that he felt that amid alligation and secrets he left the office "vulnerable" . I can't find an article right now but it's from a collection of hearing it off the radio, TV, and people.

He's a panty-waist for immediately quitting over it. Sure, it would've been a big scandal if someone else brought it out in the open, but he still didn't have to resign.

His new partner probably wants him to be the bitch in the relationship and stay home to cook and clean.

So, alleged mob ties and corruption investigations couldn't get him to resign, but sexual orientation did?

Excellent example of damage control. Now, at the very least, I don't have to endure weeks of broadcasts as they delve deeper and deeper into the sordid details of his affair. Thx, govna!

Haha... the political version of the "Somebody Else's Problem Shield:" Just put two guys having sex in front of anything you want to disappear. *poof!* It's gone!

the word now is that the guy he had an affair with was threatening him with a sexual harrassment suit if the gov didn't pay him to keep quiet.

I think that the guy was pressuring him into an appointment as the NJ homeland security czar which, apparently, the guy has no real qualifications. Even though adultery is involved, it is kind of honorable that he chose to make the affair public rather than let that appointment happen.

I personally was happy that he let me know that he was an American who loves cock. Now his resignation doesn't seem stupid at all.
