I happen to enjoy all sorts of games and to a certain extent, yes, I do like jRPGs. Just wait. More variety and good stuff to come.

One reason I never liked the original Playstation was because it was filled with jRPG games which, aside from FF6 and Chrono Trigger, are really not my bag.

That and all the casual gamer crap like Gran Turismo and FIGHTAN GAEMS. Although I do enjoy Guilty Gear and Bushido Blade.

Also, Emu: A jRPG is a linear, japanese RPG such as Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest. The opposite, the wRPG, would be an open-ended, all-choices-are-up-to-you good-or-evil RPG like Elder Scrolls or Fallout.

I don't know what the "w" stands for.

Those are some princely collections, Tim. I reccomend adding Gunstar Heroes, Um Jammer Lammy, and Banjo Tooie!

Also I really miss Quest 64 ;_;

I'm not sure. I've heard people complain about it being overly simplistic, but I was a little kid when I played it so that probably wasn't an issue for me.

I guess there's not much of a plot to it, although I only rented it on weekends and to that effect never got farther than the second boss so I don't know. I could go back and try playing it again to see what it's actually like, although there's a good chance I'd be blinded by nostalgia because it was one of my favorite rentals back in the day.

I have the same problem with Castlevania 64. I was too young to hate it back then, and now the nostalgia factor somehow still keeps me from getting pissed at its flaws. I was actually surprised a few years after I bought it to learn that many people consider it one of the WORST GAMES EVAR.

I liked Quest too. I don't remember why but I never had the trouble with it people seem to have. Then again I might just be persistent

That's what I heard but after playing it I disagree. There are some major flaws to the combat system but the game is pretty neat for a N64 title. Huge world, lots of characters and a pretty nifty story once you get into it.
