The new Orsonified version of Touch of Evil is also good. Sure, Charlton Heston is a Mexican in it and the last line is in my opinion piss awful (there have been discussions), but Welles does a great job as director and actor.
As for Bergman: I like a lot of his stuff, but I'm not sure what I think about Persona. It has lots of good stuff in it, but it sometimes it turns a little pretentious. Haven't seen Seventh Seal yet, looking forward to that one. If you're interested in Victor Sjöström (Seastrom while working in the US), the guy who played the lead in Wild Strawberries, I'd reccomend The Wind from 1928. It has a terrible ending tacked on by the studio (the word 'seamless' does NOT come to mind), but it's got an unparalleled mood and some impressive visual effects. Directed by Sjöström and with Lillian Gish in the lead.
