You forget that he can most likely be a complete idiot and be pulling words out of his ass. The only reason SSBM had more characters was because it had duplicates 'O plenty. No reason in bringing the princess from Galaxy and having her fight like peach. Or bringing back Pichu, Young Link, Dr, Mario, or the others. Although I picked Dr. Mario over normal Mario.

I knew that, but Fire Emblem eventually got a game (quite a few, actually) for the US because of Marth/Roy appearing in Melee. I read that there aren't gonna be anymore Mother/Earthbound games for the US, so the only way most people outside of Japan will know about Lucas is from his appearance in Brawl.
