I never understood the amount of hate this game got. Sure, it wasn't the best game in the series, but it's not like it was a complete piece of shit.

Sure, it was supposed to be an RPG for beginners but they overdid it.

I don’t remember the music though.

Oh yeah, but I dug it. It's nothing too impressive but it works on a number of levels. I remember playing it and enjoying the simplicity of it. I think it's one of the few RPGs that I actually liked playing over and over. Not challenging, but fun as all hell.

[quote=Kenster102.5;520229]1. True Crime: New York City (XBOX) - So fucking glitchy, it was rushed out of development, and no one likes rushed games that clones GTA, not even the NYPD Media Unit would give them any trademark rights for use of their name, so it says PDNY and a little peice of paper disclamer to not be related to NYPD.

I'd go as far to say that both True Crime games were pretty badly made. The controls are so far out of whack that it beggars belief to think that someone would play this game for more than a hour before giving up. All the neat car tricks, the precision shooting, various other aspects like catching criminals are all pretty badly handled. Nothing says 'no fun' like trying to pull all these car tricks only to end up flying backwards into oncoming traffic. Someone should have hired Rockstar into working a few more months on the controller handling alone. And this is ignoring the whole 'no real map' thing that turns a perfectly done sandbox game into 'just follow this to this and admire the blurred scenery' game. And what was the deal with the highways? You could play the whole game without getting onto one. It was essentially pointless and this become very clear when San Andreas came out and kicked all sorts of ass.

And the less said about TC: NYPD, the better. Talk about a wasted opportunity to fix some issues. Instead, the whole thing takes a backseat to the Driver game series.

It was a matter of how disappointed I was in the game. It wasn't like it was the worst game ever made, but after the RPG?/adventure drought the N64 had, I felt I was owed something truly epic. Quest 64 did not do that for me.

If I just started hating it, there might be something to that, but I paid 60 clams to be more underwhelmed than I had ever felt in my life. So I hated it before I saw a review or opinion on it. If anything I started the trend rather than followed it

That was a pretty fun game, and impossible to find to boot. Refresh my memory, was that done by Capcom?

Truest. Statement. Ever.

My friend and I still sometimes answer each others questions with "go to playOnline to find out" Why the hell should I have to do more work after playing 15 dollars for a book that is supposed to have answers. All I got were pictures?! I could go to a museum, pay less for it, and see much better looking pictures! I don't know if gamers ever got an apology for that, we were certainly owed one.

On the plus side, I was introduced to the concept of printing online guides because of that crap book, so it freed me from paying for walkthroughs.

On puzzle and most adventure games I agree with that. On stuff like RPGs where an uber item is hidden in the 37th bush in the north part of a village though, I will use guides because I don't have time to search every ppixel of a game and I want to get straight to the game and plot, rather than an insane scavenger hunt.

My girlfriend always talks about that game. I always ask, what do you do on it? And she inevitably says, "you buy stuff and open a store and people buy whatever you sell. You can simulate any store on there." I usually reply, "Or... I can go to any real store in real life."

Quest 64 was boring and uninspired. I can't think of many games I really hate, there were a couple on the NES... what was that one the boat called

It was COBRA TRIANGLE!!

These are in no order, my hate is as impartial as a mother's love.

Bart vs. The Space Mutants
- I spent so long playing this game as a kid, and I FINALLY got to the second level and got sucked up by the wet cement over and over and over and over.

Altered Beast - It's one of those games that I feel like I'd really like if it just controlled a little better. Every single time I play the game I forget that a crouching kick goes vertical, and every single time I am OUTRAGED.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Fuck this game and if you like it, fuck you. I know tons of people that like and own this game, and I don't understand why. It's the most frustrating thing I've ever played.

Silent Hill 4: The Room -
I'm a really big fag for the Silent Hill series, so when I realized that the second half of the game is a giant escort mission, I was pissed. When I realized that there were FLAMING SEETHING GHOSTS that you couldn't kill, I was pissed. And during a particularly painful sequence in which you had to escort a badly injured woman up a haunted escalator, I threw my controller into my wall.

Any Old-School FPS -
Doom, Quake, Marathon, pretty much anything. I realize I didn't exactly grow up with it, but all of the textures look exactly the same and I end up either getting lost or sick or bored before I even finish a level.

I'd also like to add a special achievement award for any video game community ever, as I hate each and every last one of them.

EDIT - By the way, fuck you guys, that Sub-Zero game was awesome.

I haven't really played bad games, 'cos almost all the games me and my friends had were kick ass. Although there were Cliffhanger and Bart vs. Spacemutants, which we all hated.

Oh and NES/SNES Super Marios. Although they have nice graphics and are over all great games etc., the games are repeative as hell. And the music ain't that great either, atleast after you've gotten used to those in Sonic games.

EDIT: Oh and I mean Megadrive Sonic games, not these later fucked up ones.

It's a good game, I've beaten it. But the problem for me was that at some point of the game it got boring. Both music and gameplay wise.

But then again, I had a Megadrive. And didn't really get to enjoy NES/SNES games until I started using emulators. So my point of view could be different if I would have actually played Mario games back in the early 90s.
