In retrospect, we were trespassing on their grounds. They could have been more hospitable, true.
Not far from the church complex is a sort of fortress, in the woods. Not sure what it is, but it has guard towers and looks somewhat like the Branch Davidian compound. We didn't know if it was part of their complex, and we were investigating to see if it had anything identifying it as part of the church, just to satisfy our own curiosity. It was creepy and weird.
We were run off the property by menacing parishoners in trucks. We weren't 100% sure we were on the property, but apparently we were.
I have a friend who went to a service there and she said the inside of the church is like a mall, with escalators and coffee shops.
