The One and Only... is probably a spambot
Old Oct 20th, 2005, 05:10 PM        Should I take up wrestling?
After lifting today, my gym teacher asked me how much I weigh. After I told him, he asked me if I ever thought about taking up a sport, like football or wrestling (note that he's one of the football coaches). I said I thought about taking one up next season, but then I remembered that wrestling hadn't really begun yet. I asked him about it and he said I should go to the team meeting next Weds.

Anyway... should I do wrestling? My only concerns are:

1) Overtraining.
2) Interferance with fencing.
3) Having the academic team and chess coaches pissed at me.

Overtraining is pretty obvious - I'd be in season for both sports at the same time. That's a pretty hefty load on my musculature when combined with lifting. As far as fencing goes, I'm worried that either injury or the mental aspect of wrestling would screw up my foil game. The third part isn't that big of a deal, it's just that one of them is my teacher, so, ya know. Good not to have him pissed.

What do you think?
