Gas cap rust woes



The driver's side seat after we painted it with some kind of funky fabric and leather spraypaint my dad found. It works surprisingly well.



Unpainted passenger side seat. The driver's was a lot more worn than this one.



This one's my favorite. We opened up the trunk and found where the spare tire is supposed to be, and as we did that we were attacked by a mass cloud of dust and shit. We pulled out the spare tire and underneath it was a piece of old shag carpet. Lifting that up, we found...



Fuck.

I had a '87 Austin Montego, & after I ground off the rust on the doors I found still had to replace two of them.

A friend in High School removed the floor from his Mini because it was so badly rusted, but he never replaced it. Fun days driving around with our feet up on the seats.

My dad repairs cars semi-professionally so he might know how to fix it without TOO much trouble, but ohter than that I don't know what he wants to do about the rust.

steel can be replaced with plastic polymers. if your dad repairs cars professionally, that's going to be one sweet ride.

He does it semi-professionally, as in he only does jobs for family members and sometimes he gets paid.



This is his Porsche, which was a piece of shit when he bought it. Not to mention the passenger side door was literally bashed in because the previous owner's dipshit wife backed into it.

CAR UPDATE

Looking the car over, there are three places on the underside of the body that had apparently rusted out. Instead of, y'know, fixing it, the previous owner just stuck sheets of aluminium over the rusted parts. But they didn't seal it. And, as you can see from the picture of the spare tire compartment, these people drove on a lot of country roads. Meaning about thirty pounds of dirt and rocks managed to gather in the rusted parts and worsen the rust. We opened one of them up and dirt just POURED out of it.

God.
