oh, and i don't think it's a fetus, yet. i think it's still considered an embryo or whateva until the 3rd month.

all i know is that it's only 26mm long and it moves around like crazy, but i can't feel it moving...which is a very strange sensation to not feel, if you think about it.

the midwife said it looked healthy and she was impressed that i had come so close to knowing when the first day of my last period was. i was only a day off according to the calculations the ultrasound machine made based on length. i'm not ashamed to admit that the only reason why i know the date is because i made a post about tampax pearl tampons and fuckin looked it up after i got my positive test results so i could get an approximate date.

went to the doctor on friday and heard the little creature's heartbeat, which sounded more like a really fast staticky choo choo train, than a heartbeat, but at least it was making some kind of noise, right? right.

i thought i might get another picture but i didn't

i did, however, get a pap test done with no lube. girls, you can only imagine how uncomfortable this is. guys, i'm not even going to try to explain.

I think they do that around the twentieth week, sometimes a week or two before (forgot how far along you were). My best friend just delivered her first born yesterday and I was there to coach her and cut the baby's cord. The entire experience was totally humbling to me and I felt blessed to be part of it. As tough as it was to be a coach, it was heart wrenching to feel helpless when she was in her final stage of delivery. They ended up giving her something at that last stage to ease her along (trithecal?? It was a weird name) and she was able to enjoy the birth of her daughter. I can't tell you how happy I am for you and having gotten to participate in Jada's birth is life changing.
