Few things, bucko :O

1. stop Capitalizing Things that Don't Need To be.
2. Stop writing as if you're working for gamespot.
3. It was nothing special.

I'm not AMAZED by kicking open a shitter and seeing an alien on the toilet or being able to blow up fire hydrants. There wasn't really anything new that stood out too much. Like I said, it was fun, but don't fucking act like it was the be all, end all game of the fucking 90s.

Edit: That star wars fps game was a doom clone? The one that came out around the same time as duke nukem? Are you really that dumb? You get a lightsaber, you get force powers, and you're in a star wars universe. For a nerd you don't exactly have your shit together. That game was awesome and better than duke nukem.

Jedi Knight was the best, though.

I remember when Jedi Outcast came out and I was blown the fuck away.

think he was referring to dark forces rather than Jedi knight http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_forces which did not have force powers and sabre action

never got to play the original, but Jedi knight was pretty cool.

anyways, duke3d had some cool modding tools, I must have spent ages making random levels and silly mods for it (only one of note was a freddy Kruger Glove which replaced the foot and gave you energy when you killed enemies with it)

I guess only time will tell.
I suppose it's worth noting that HL1, using a modified quake1 engine went head to head with games using far newer tech and won. Heck, I still play DoD today.

They should hire John Romero and Derek Smart, then we will see some damn results

3D Realms has posted a new screenshot for on-going saga Duke Nukem Forever.
It shows a huge boar-man brandishing some impressively yellow tusks, and proves to us all that the project is still very much alive.
What's wrong with this statement?

Also, the link to the list of things that happened between now and when DNF was first announced is funny.

Haha, nice list. I honestly don't believe this game is ever going to be released, and I'm already so well past caring that I won't be buying it until I hear from MULTIPLE sources I trust that it kicks an insane amount of ass.

I just pretend every time it resurfaces that it's just been announced. I mean, what I've read of the development history basically says it's been started from the ground up about a half dozen times. The game that is eventually released (and since they haven't given up yet I think they're determined to see it through) probably won't spend any more time in actual development than your average high-profile game (what, two or three years?). The decade of false starts seems like just a source of amusement and may not have any bearing on the final product.

Prey was in development since '97 and it looked nothing like it does now. They had to start over about three times.

Although they've moved engines a few times, I suspect they have a good few years of game mechanics, level designs and all the other transferable elements complete.

Any amount of press coverage that this game gets is undeserved.
