Everyone does brazilian jujitsu. Not that that's a bad thing. It rules. I really dont do anything but boxing. I was thinking of doing muay thai or something but I suck at kicking. But I do enjoy practicing europian swordplay, is that a martial art?

I was into tae kwon do for a while... I almost have my black belt and I'm getting pretty bored so I may quit. I enjoy sparring but all the forms and three-steps and stupid stances don't rub me the right way.

I've started working on jeet kune do, you know, bruce lee's art. I like it.

I'm sure I can find a jeet kune do school (and possibly ninjutsu so I can try it out) when I move to NYC next year. To this point I've watched bruce lee movies and incorporated some parts of tae kwon do I believe aren't unnecessary, such as some blocks and hand strikes.

Why would you quit when you're that close?

And the things you mentioned that you get bored of have much more practical applications than you might think...

They haven't invented the martial art form yet that can defeat a firearm in the hand of a proficient marksman.

And there isn't a school of marksmanship that can defeat a nuke in the bay of a proficient bomber pilot's plane. What's your fucking point? That you think martial arts are stupid? Good for you. Faggot.

see if you can find a fighting tai chi school. they'll teach you how to harness you mystical energies!

seriously tho, tai chi was a martial art long before it was a stretch (and pose) set for older people.

Carnivore: See Equilibrium, the main character does Gun-Fu. It looks a lot like Dante's Gunslinger shit. It's not real, but close enough.

Also, there is an art that can defeat a firearm or knife, both Adept and I practice the almight Nike-Jutsu.

Calm down, Ziggy. I never said martial arts are stupid. I actually did Kung Fu for many years back in middle school. They are an excellent way to stay physically fit and would probably give you a decided advantage in a minor scuffle.

Ninja, I fully intend to see Equilibrium. Someone I worked with told me all about that gun-incorporated martial art form in it about three weeks ago and I made a note to rent it. Sounds cool.

I was merely stating (probably overstating, I admit) that in a life or death situation, I would rather be packing.
