I dont think that you should have fealt sorry for pink in the same way you felt sorry for Tommy. As Pink's Descent was almost entirely self inflicted (Drugs, sex, that sort of thing) while Tommy's problem lied in his Mom and "Uncle" fred and him witnessing the death of his father.
