Does that mean I can return my chubby DS for a cute, lean pocketwarmer?

Nintendo is a money-whore,I doubt the new DS will cost $129.99

I wish they would take the fat ones back for a free slim one

Well I found out that you can do that, but you have to be in Japan, with a new looking DS, with the box, manual, stylus, heart of a human child, and then you can return it for one.

Yeah I heard about this it's pretty cool.

As far as replacing my current DS for the "lite", screw it. I like it fine the way it is. I still have my GBA SP too and personally I think that's the coolest handheld design ever.

Nintendo owns the handheld market. My DS/GBA gets like 2-3 times more playing time than my PSP.

Confirming our original report, the Opera Web browser add-on has been confirmed for DS. In addition to this, the browser will not be firmware. It is also now known that the forthcoming Nintendo DS web browser will fully utilize the properties of the portable device. Web pages on the DS will span both screens of the handheld, with the touch screen functioning for forms of input. The browser will also fully recognize stylus movements associated with the touch screen in order to adjust the viewing angle of the bottom screen.

The Opera software is currently slated to release in Japan during the month of June at the price of 3800 yen, roughly $30, and will include ATOK Kanji conversion software.
This confirms the PSP's obsoleteness then :o

Agreed, I really don't like the idea of making it smaller. Granted, I have friggin' HUGE hands, so that might have somethin to do with it, but I think the DS is perfect the way it is, so unless the new one somehow feels 10 times better, I won't bother swapping my old one for it.

Yep, no question about it. Have you seen the new multiplayer Tetris DS that's coming out with all the different modes 'n stuff plus nifty classic NES backgrounds while you play? Man that's gonna be a fun one :drool

(hey, we don't have a drool emoticon, someone get on that!)

Yes, I too think that the current DS is fine.

One things, though: Metroid Prime: Hunters is due out near the end of March, and I've found that it's hard to hold the DS and use the buttons and stylus for aiming without getting a hand cramp. Anybody have a remedy for this?

Most people use the thumb appendage it comes with for some games. More controls seem acceptable at that point.
