First of all, the shark must only have a limited supply of fuel, there are no unlimited fuel devices around. There is no point going into the realms of fantasy.
Since the crocodile has wings, it must have grown them and used them alot growing up. The shark, on the other hand, could never have built a jet pack when it was young. Crocodile has experience in the air.
A sharks tooth is very sharp, however, it is also very weak. Sharks loose their teeth very easily - this is why they have so many - they also grow back quite fast.
A woman recently tested her chain mail armour against a shark. The armour protected her from it's biting.
A crocodile doesn't have metal, but it does have a virtualy impregnibale hide. Shotgun rounds were fired at a croc that stole a womans baby in the Northern Territory a few years back, they didn't hurt the beast. The crocodile is a whirling cyclone of death and misery.
Even a simpleton could work out that one bite from a shark on a crocidiles hide will not only leave the croc un-harmed, but will render the sharks main offensive weapon useless. The teeth will shatter like brittle cheese.
After this, the croc will stick it's hands into the sharks gills and tear it's head off.
Another point. How do sharks steer themselves? Tail fin. Look carefuly at your hero and see what would happen if he were to attempt to turn his tail: The rocket packs jet trail would destroy any steering/hitting capability it might have once had. Truly, the shark is a weak target for the mincing machine that is a flying crocodile.

I accept this. It is damning evidence for our friend the ALLIGATOR.
