Highly Comedy Valentines Exploits!!!
Ok, so you're probably sick to death of Valentines by now, but I figured I'd share how I got on yesterday and give you one more thread.
All things considered, Valentines was pretty godammn awesome despite the fact that I have never been anything but single on February 14th throughout my life. Thankfully.
I suppose it really began with a disheartening experience in the early hours of Friday in a nightclub with a girl I know... A little complicated and I won't go into it right now but I haven't spoken to her since yet. Just thought I'd mention it for irony value.
During the daytime the current project I was involved on reached it's conclusion, and involved rigging a wooden rope swing which we'd made from a 20ft high tree branch courtesy of a ladder, carabena and rigging equipment I "borrowed" from the Student's Union. And yes, this is actually a part of my degree course! Another group made a hammock structure, another made a comedy omini-directional seat swing with bubble wrap cushions, and the final group made, get this, a raft out of six PINK oil drums, pallete wood and a SOFA!!!! There are videos and photographs in existence of this contraption navigating a lake and even doing some ice-breaking in the process. To cap it all, it was called the "Love Boat" and had a ballon-penis attached to one side! I will try to get some photos on the board in due course.
I came home and discovered my housemate had plans to Wine and Dine his girlfriend... in his bedroom!!! Ho ho ho!
But the best bit were my plans for the night, a beach party in a pub! I entered the sandcastle building competition with a girl called Rosie, also an Architecture student and together we built TRANSILVANIA!!!! We made a gothic castle on a cliff, a rocky causeway and a little walled town beneath it, all in sand. And we won!!! A bottle of sparkling wine between the two of us made up the first prize, whilst the second prize (comprising a coconut) went to the group that made a comedy sculpture of a woman in the sand complete with lemon and lime eyes, cherry nipples and a bikini made from napkins.
And best of all, this morning my Ebay-tastic Soundwave arrived in the mail. For now, life is good.
