This thread is not about anti-semitism. At least it wasn't, until you showed up. It was about somebody pulling a really stupid prank. Everything's a cause with you. And I don't think anti-semitism is hilarious at all. I was simply pointing out that you have virtually no sense of humor about anything whatsoever, particularly your own heritage. I mentioned Mel Brooks because he, unlike you, is a guy who delights in his heritage, and finds much humor in it. Furthermore, you can find humor in just about anything, provided, of course, you are not utterly devoid of a sense of humor.

My point was not to downplay anti-semitism at all. While I don't know you personally, I couldn't help pointing out that, on this site, you come across as a humorless prick who's just looking to be outraged about something. In all the time you've been here, I've seen not one joke from you, not one humorous take on ANYTHING.

I know you're angry over how the prank was reported. But it seems to me that the Chimp makes a strong point- as much as things are done electronically these days, it's a strong possibility that it was just missed. Just like the DMV doesn't update their web address, so unsuspecting people end up at a porn site. These things happen.

How it was reported seems to be just another example of the stupidity of the news outlets. Of course it's not hidden. It would be if it was in the fine print. These are the same people that come on after a presidential speech to tell us everything we just heard the president say. They're morons.

What gets me is that, even if this were a truly malicious prank that was expected to make it into the papers, it reflects on "CC," NOT the Jews. It's not meant to be harmful to Jews, it's meant to make CC look bad. Period.

Regardless of who made such an careless mistake, I believe that the message's author meant for his message to reflect poorly on CC by suggesting that he hates Jews, rather than saying, in the third person, that he himself hates Jews.

Maybe this person doesn't like Jews. I don't know, and I'm not going to speculate. To say that it's a prank is not writing it off at all. That's what it is. A prank. A stupid, pointless prank. That's it. I don't know the person who did it, or the person to whom it refers, so I don't know exactly why it was done.

Back to the point: My issue is not with the ad, as it seems clear enough as to what it is. Do I think you're the only Jewish person who takes offense to it? Hardly. I'd be more concerned if the perpetrator had a history of violence against Jews. See it for what it is, and for what it seems the rest of us here seem to think it is: an idiotic act carried out by a very stupid person.

Speaking of stupid people, let's get back to you, since you're so comfortable putting words in my mouth and telling me what I think. I never once said that that ad didn't contain anti-Jewish sentiment, as it plainly does: "CC hates the Jews" means that CC harbors anti-Jewish sentiment. Duh. I said this THREAD is not about anti-semitism, or it wasn't until you showed up. Personally, I thought the ad was amusing, in a twisted way, just because of the juxtaposition of "CC hates the Jews" right above "HAPPY HANUKKAH!" It doesn't mean I hate Jews, or even mildly dislike them. I even have Jewish friends (God, I've been dying to use that line). It doesn't mean I'm a heartless or uncompassionate person. I just like the oddness created by two things that don't go together. Not everyone looks at the world the way you do, abcd. And thank God for that. You could work the evils of anti-semitism into a fucking Ford vs. Chevy debate. It's like you're just waiting for the opportunity to jump in with it.

This thread just seemed like a good opportunity to point out what an utterly miserable tightass you are, because this is how you react to EVERYTHING.
