Some returning characters were shown, as well as "Title Defend" which changes all of the characters so that they're practically totally different opponents. Glass Joe is wearing headgear, and King Hippo's got a sewer cover on his belly. Jesus Christ.

I also noticed in the new Game Informer the following things:

Bear Hugger is confirmed. And if you lose 100 times Little Mac will get his own helmet.

So 1up had a Game Night recently and showed off everything that they were allowed to show so far, and I'm pretty happy. The game looks hard, Great Tiger is even more awesome than before, and I'm definitely interested in multiplayer now.
