I made a HL2 mod :o

I expect some people have noticed i have not been posting much recently. Well there is a very good reason for this......

I made a toally awsome, rockin', off the wall, HL2 mod.

GENERAL:
This is a pretty simple mod. It's for those of us who like to go into a comabat situation 'prepared' (aka armed to the teeth)

The weapons changes are as follows:

- Pistol fire selectable (Auto/semi auto)

- Shotgun fire selectable (pump/semi auto)

- SMG Fire selectable (scope/grenade) (still a bit buggy, dont me suprised if something messes up)

- .357 fires as fast as you can click

- Shotgun primary fire reduced spread and more pellets. Secondary fire fires 50 pellets (instead of 16)

- RPG fully auto, unlimited ammo. (fires seagulls) - laser turnoffable.

- AR1 fires twice as fast and has a clip of 60


ADDITIONS:
- Full auto bow gun bolt launcher...
- Flare gun (a bit buggy but fun)
- Prop buster grenade (This is really useless but it works so i left it in. Basically it explodes on impact if it hits a prop... but not an NPC :/ )

- Basic bullet time
- More blood
- Sniper rifle (if you can find a model for it)
- Some new sounds
- Hmm, probably some other stuff I fogot.
- Map "weaponstest_map" Just something i was using to test my shit. Might be useful if you plan to add in some models of your own.

- Added map Combine Onslaught. Released by StiffyLS (chapter 16 or "map CombineOnslaught")
- Added rockV2 map (made by jagged edge - http://halflife2.filefront.com/file/..._Rock_SP;36473 )

Its not a super powerful weapons mod. The game is still challengeing and i have added some additional things like the flaregun which was not in the original game, alrternate fire modes for weapons, extra blood etc etc

Also i dare say you didn't program your SUPAR POWE..etc in C++

Well when you have the slightest idea of what is invloved in mod creation i will give you opinion some respect.

I have been an active member of the HL community for a while and this is the kindof stuff people what to see.
Without a whole team of people a total conversion is completely unfeasable.

Infact i doubt you even own the game and are probably just trying to look cool by flaming me.
You'll get more cool points if you flame arrowX, thats the 'hip' thing to be doing at the moment.

GM is ok, but once you have seen 1000 threads of HL2 characters in sexual or matrix positions it looses its novelty value.

Thing is, I didn't say anything about your mod being Garry mod (which is kind of fun).
But yeah, that and when you find out people can make what I made in an hour, in 2 minutes, kind of pisses me off.

the best thing about GM us making scrapheap challenge style...challenges.

try and make a stable floating blatform using balloons, gas canisters or watever!

This is the type of stuff that comes out a few weeks after the game while every fag with a text editor gets it out of their system and the people with talent are still working on things that appeal to a more high-brow demographic than ArrowX. Believe it or not there isn't really anything like this for HL2 yet.
All the TCs are still in development and the SP mods are mostly just giving weapons real names or adding save games where they have spawned more enemies around the maps.
All of the people who have a good degree of C++/Visual studio skill are all hard at work on Total convrsions which will not be relased for a few months yet.

I have tried to keep the weapions balenced by limiting ammuntion etc and not making them overly unrealistic but also making them more fun to use.
For instance the SPAS12 shotgun in real life can be gas operated, i.e. not pump action, which was not present in the original game.
And you could not disable the guideing laser as you could in HL1 by default.
These kind of things just add a bit of extra fun while you are strafeing round corners in slow motion.

But if you think you can implement weapon fire mode changes or increase 'for loop' values to spawn aditional blood particles with a basic text editor go right ahead.

again you're kidding right. this map has been done so many times in so many different ways it's disgusting. it may not look exactly like yours but it's basically the same thing as joe shmoe's shitty map
