Does every state in USA have their own "trademark dish"?

Just curious, because in Europe almost every province have their own "special" meals. :/

yeah, pretty much

sometimes it's more of a individual city than a state thing, too

edit: and it's more common on the east coast than the west coast, since that area's been populated longer

In Cinncinnati, Ohio, it's chili. Mmmm.., Gold Star, Skyline, and all of the Mom-and-Pop places, there's so many choices.

I think what we do best, though, is barbecue. That's not saying that other countries don't do barbecue. Barbecue is what we do the best.

Well, I know that taco seasoning can make a pretty good dry rub.

Once I made this bitchin' pork-chop, it had a whole lot of stuff in it, red pepper, garlic powder, taco seasoning, caesar's dressing, etc. but I never wrote anything down.

I know I'm butting in and all, but Chipotle Marionberry-Blackberry sauce. I cannot recommend it enough. Of course, you have to add a spice rub to get it actually spicy, but that shit is delicious.

In Grande Prairie we eat used needles and 100 dollar bills.
But Alberta as a whole eats cattle.

I believe Utah's state food or whatever is Jello. It might just be SLC's though. This girl I knew from there wouldn't stop bringing it up.

Northern Kentucky's big on Chili, because we're practically a part of Ohio. The farther South you go, I've noticed, the more the trend goes towards chicken.

Well Emu and Zelda might be right for the southern inbred part of Illinois but Chicago's trademark is their deep dish pizza and polish sausage, yum!

Most states have 'traditional' foods.
http://www.foodtimeline.org/foodfaq4.html#official
Some states have an 'official' fruit..California has several - most native to San Francisco.
