Oh, yeah, they're doing a coordinated raid across the world on the 30th. It's going down at 23:00 GMT and will involve massive property destruction and more than one Guy Fawkes mask. Anon thought you guys should know.

I don't think 4chan really cares if the nice folks at i-mockery are kept abreast of the situation.

Guy Fawkes? The guy who ratted on the other participants in the gun powder plot? I never understood why he was seen as a hero in all that shit.

He wasn't the hero. He was the crazy traitor that dared challenge our divinely chosen king.

Does Anon realize that doing that will technically make them a terrorist group?

Well, as far as the media and the uninformed (i.e. the majority of everyone) are concerned, they already are.

We are Legion

I don't think they'll do a big coordinated raid. From what I've seen, the *channers aren't notable for their coordination.

But I still prefer then over Scientologists.

Watch 4chan give the public a reason to accept visible control of the internet by the government, the way it is in China. That would be the greatest!

I dunno if that would happen. Some people might try it but I don't think it would work, simply because of the fact that there are so many people who enjoy the freedom of information on the internet, and they wouldn't want to lose that.

I think, anyway.

Same goes for freedom to not have your library books watched or unwarranted phone taps.

The internet is strange and mysterious. A lot of people are scared of it. They are going to want the government to clamp down on it.

Not scary really, just the natural order of things. As humans we try to control what isn't controlled. Tame the wild so to speak. It's not like the government isn't controlling what we can and can't do online. I mean look at all the stuff we do online, everything is legal really, and what is against the law is cracked down on.

I'm just saying that the government will be able to use something this big (if it does get this big) as a reason for coming out of the shadows. Then they will be able to enforce some really ugly rules due to acts of terrorism.

Yeah but it's scary because where does it end? What if they decide that any very negative statements towards themselves is threatening to national security? I guess it's that slippery-slope thing. I'm not saying it would necessarily be like that, but it's a possibility.
