Old Nov 9th, 2004, 10:54 AM        Dems beaten, Republicans now begin to atack their own center
The religous right is demanding that Arlen Spectre, who is pro choice, not be allowed to chair the judicial commitee.

Look for more politburro tactics. This is typical of every extremist movement. Once you've defeated those most obviously opposed to your agenda, you begin gnawing away at yourself.

I predict attacks on other center Republicnas, depending on hiow well this test ballon floats.

Is it just because he's pro-choice?

You think it's funny now, but wait. Hatch favors stem cell research and he may well find in the months to come that even he is no longer orthodox enough for the Republican rulership.

You want to bet, though, that well funded far right alternatives to Spectre, Snow, and even Mccain will be run against them?

Even Citizen Robespierre became an enemy of the French Revolution.

I can't decide which I dislike more: Raygun's feigned ignorance, or his real ignorance.

I think his feigned ignorance is more annoying. I mean, you can't fault him for his real ignorance.

Plus, I think his dogged insistance that he isn't feigning ignorance (like he insistence that he answers direct questions) is just obnoxious. Like a little kid who keeps saying "I know you are but what am I?"

Add to that the fact that he actually gets some little thrill simply from being irritating. Funny, insightful, or pertinent, if they ever happened would take a back seat to annoying. That's the main, perhaps the only reason he comes here.

He's a punk. That's way worse than being stupid. That's why I didn't go too far when he talked about how if he lost his airline job he'd become a fireman.

What do you expect from a guy who says Creationism should be taught as a scientific theory in the classroom?

So... you guys do know there's a difference between an embryo and a fetus, right? And that frozen embryos from fertility clinics get destroyed wether they're used to create stem cell lines? And that the big bucks in medical research mostlly comes from the government? I mean, you voted so surely you educumated yourselves to at least the degree that you know aborted fetuses have nothing to do with this, right?

History proves you to be correct, Max. When FDR and the New Dealers took full control, they ran a tight ship within their coalition by threatening to primary any Southern Democrats who didn't fall in step with the New Deal.

I am serious about everyone registering Republican. We should speed up the Sovietization of this country as fast as we can. One big party with roughly an entire nation in her membership cannot have a clear message, and will implode.

We need to get back to the days when progressive Republicans and Old Guard Republicans (now insert Neo-Cons) engaged in fist fights at their state conventions.

After reading this, I have become certain that the GOP core not only wants to rule the country, they want world domination.

I thought the theory of evolution wasn't proven which made it a theory. I believe in evolution but has it be sceintifically proven? I figured it was a theory that has many things indicating its true( like the big bang theory) so we just accept it as true.

It's pretty well accepted as a law, it's not like real biologists have any doubt that speciation occured by evolution. Evolution can be proven by two observations: natural selection and genetic mutation.

We've seen natural selection work with amazing speed in HIV infections, and we see mutated frogs all the time. Hell, I swear I've seen a six-legged cow while in Kansas. So yeah, even though we appease the morons by not calling it the Law of Evolution, the idea is accepted as a concrete fact.

And although I am quite aware of its benefits, I'm still opposed to embryonic stem cell research.
