Ya, Romero was executive producer on Savini's night, he also wrote the script, which is why it's considered part of the universe. It was really more of an update then a remake. It's practically the same shot-for-shot.

Just FYI folks, about anyone can do a spin off or remake of Night as it is public domain. Romero doesn't make a penny of any of the spin offs and remakes (as they are all based upon public domain material). That's why the guy is on hard times, living with his girl in Toronto. He'll joke about it and has a great attitude about it, but he got screwed out of an empire, no doubt about it.

He's a super nice guy. Keep the above in mind if you ever go to a horror con and balk at his autograph fees.

Actually I liked the "Return" fast walking, slow talking Zombies. To clarify they're actually Zoombies.

(I know kinda of off topic, has anyone seen Fido? If not definitely check Fido out)

If I remember correctly, the Day of the Dead remake was produced by the same guy who directed Day of the Dead 2: Contagium, another crap covered diamond in the rough. The remake was just really bad, nothing else. What they did with Rhodes was the topping on the turd for me.

BY THE POWER OF GREY SKULL! Damn you Nick Cannon.

Return is by far my favorite zombie flick. Got me into the funeral biz and the horror industry. Fido is great too.

Valient Kid: Nope, The Day remake was directed by Steve Miner, of Lake Placid and Halloween H20.

Which is why I was referring to James Dudelson's job of producing the Day remake, where in the "sequel" he co-directed.

I don't know. I mean, it wasn't phenomenal, but compared with most of the zombie movies I've seen lately it's not bad.

The hyper ceiling crawler zombie was pretty ridiculous, though.
