The term is so much more broad than it seems. Just about anything could be considered "alt rock" anyway. Just going from Max's description, I'd say that this band definitely falls into the 'alternative' category.

I haven't heard about the Residents in EONS!

When I was a kid I used to frequently watch one of their Short-Films/Music Videos that had some creepy eyeball-headed people on their wedding night. It was great.

Anybody know what it was called?

I'd love to hear them take a new approach to Elvis songs. I gotta hunt this album down!

also one of my favorite Residents albums. I think my top fave is the first one. Saw them a few years back, but missed out last fall. Damn.
