The article's a little long to post here, and needs to be read in its entirety to get the point. To summarize, Dr. Whitehurst says that the reason methods of conversion used by Christians have changed so drastically recently is because this new "shove the spiritual wang into your nose" approach to conservatism supposedly yields quicker, more long term results. I thought it was interesting.

That seemed to me to be just someone complaining about the worst possible kind of fundamentalism that could be thought of, but is never really encountered.
