Probably after the first minute it would turn black and smoke uncontrollably, then just dry out till it's hard as rock.

I've... been known to torch a few bread rolls.

you mean that microwaves can actually burn things as in char them?

Wow, I always thought their molecular structures would just slowly decompose.

I'm not sure if the charring happens to anything that's in the microwave for too long. But every time when I made bread in the microwave and forgot to turn on hot-air-mode, the bread would be completely dehydrated and charred to stinky black by the heat. I think the prolonged microwaves just extract all the moisture from whatever's in there.

...then again, things can also explode when they're in the microwave for too long, so I don't know.

The potato would either explode or dry out... chances are I think that, since it is peeled, it would just dry out. I know that you have to poke holes in unpeeled potatoes before microwaving them to prevent explosions.

At least, that's what my mom says, and she was around when microwaves were first invented.

Try putting a fork in the potato, leave it in there, then put them both in the microwave. Strange things happen...

Mashmellows are great to watch in microwaves. In just five minutes it looks like it has a huge tumor on its side and then it bursts.

Sometimes when you leave microwaves on fo r along time with nothing inside to "microwave", they can explode.

I once boiled an egg in the microwave and when i cracked it open, a pillar of steam erupted and cut my finger. The yolk was black and the egg white looked like swiss cheese.

I stuck gummy bears in my microwave, it mutates them into a slime puddle. I then tried to eat said puddle with a plastic spoon, and the spoon melted.

First off, use a metal one.

What you should do is (if you can) make little molds that you can make your own gummy creatures with!

back in the college days while taking a break from studying, a group of friends and i went out in a big field with an useless microwave and a generator that we borrowed from the art department. we hooked everything up and stuffed the microwave with hot dogs and eggs, with a can of soda in the middle of the pack. we set the timer to 20 minutes and we backed away 50 yards. we waited for 7 minutes before it went KABLAMMO! the door blew open and there were bits of hot dogs and eggs flying all over the place. my friend has the copy on the tape.

I think the coolest thing to stick in the microwave is a CD. Just burn a CD with a bunch of worthless stuff and stick it in. You can see sparks following the lines on the disk.

Cool Shit Indeed

One time I put a bag of popcorn in the microwave, and it caught fire... both the bag and the microwave. Good times...

WHY WE DON'T LEAVE THE MICROWAVE UNATTENDED AFTER A 14 HOUR SHIFT:

the difference between 2:30 and 23:00 means EVERYTHING to a poor, innocent hot pocket

powers of 10 are the REAL terrorists.
