I love how everybody was getting all upset about how churches have to provide abortions for their employees.

I guess people didn't stop to think what would happen to the health benefits for employees of christian scientist's.

On one hand, that's what you get for working for the church. Waddya expect?

On the other hand, don't go and quit your job, especially if your insurance covers any "previous conditions".

many christian scientists don't believe in using doctors and medicine even if you're dying.

probably the only christian scientist insurance benefits are prayers

Good point, but a church organization might have a lot of normal jobs available -- especially through affiliate organizations like charities and through their missionary crap. Like, I'm sure they hire accountants. And you can be a catholic/christian and still practice abortion i guess.

is it ok for the church to fire someone if they are gay?

It has been proven that the church has the legal right to fire someone for being gay. Is it ok? I don't think anything the church does is moral or ethical, so I say no. That's the difference my opinion, versus the law or lack of.

I think that churches need to shut the fuck up until they pay taxes.

Quote:
Church members offered to help pay her insurance bills if she resigned, but she threatened to sue instead. She made good on her promise when the school fired her, claiming it had illegally discriminated against her because of her disability.
OH NOES THEY CAN FIRE GA PEOPLE

all the things in your link refer to one person who didn't even press charges and at the end they go, "AND ItS OK CAUSE SUPREME CURT SAYS SO" then you look at the top of the page and its a gay rights page

cool thans for arguing

if anything this proves how stupid the legal system in that whether or not a person should have their job kept open after 7 months while not giving any indications that youd be able to return to work has nothing to do with churches.

Why is it even a religous issue? I dont want to pay for other peoples condoms and shit through medical insurance which is already to expensive to get. Should we also pay for other extra shit people should be paying for themselves like tatoo removal and piercings? Hell maybe we should get reimbursed for gym fees since that also has to do with our bodies. Perhaps hair removal and or hair restoration as well.

I don't understand the "I am a tax payer and I don't want to pay for you to have sex" argument. Isn't this about insurance companies being mandated to provide birth control? Where does it say that tax payer dollars would go to buy contraceptives?

Its not a tax thing its their insurance. People are upset because they are getting priced out of being able to have it and then they see this bullshit that makes it even more expensive.

It's preventative care. You use condoms and birth control pills to keep from developing more costly conditions later on, like cancer or children.

Also, people are upset because a bunch of talking heads have convinced them that they're paying college students to have sex (and they're not getting free amateur porn in exchange ).
