I don't know how I hadn't seen this when I was younger, but I bought it on Blu Ray this year and I honestly felt like I'd been missing out.

What I can't believe is that over all the years that I've seen this article pop back onto the front page I had never before noticed that the writing on the taxi's door clearly spells "Doobby's" with two Bs, contrary to what the article itself declares. I don't really know whether that makes this guy's name better or worse, but I'm sure it's a relevant fact to be stated.

Definitely relevant. And here's another wrench to throw into the proverbial gears - on IMDB, his character name is spelled "Doobie". The mystery of his true name continues!

And call me nuts, but I'm pretty certain "Dooby/ie" was played by the dude who played the nice upper-management guy Carl on Billy Madison.

I love John Candy, he was a great actor and the characters that he played are in my opinion sort of real rolemodels, they are prone to make mistakes but have a big heart.
