re:
the only bands mentioned that i'd even fathom being noise rock are d yellow swans (good pick, really), sonic youth (first few albums only), the boredoms, and lightning bolt.
most of the other stuff isn't noise-y at all.
noise ROCK (remember, it has to rock?)...
hair police (particularly earlier stuff, whereas the newer stuff leans into more creeped soundtrack vibes)
live skull (an old fave.)
ground zero (well, if the boredoms are fair game...)
harry pussy (the official noise-rock band, dudes)
no docters (particularly live, when they're less controlled. their cover of bruce springsteen's "jungleland" is to die for.)
white mice (maybe noise-metal would be more appropriate?)
vibracathedral orchestra (much more psych/drone-influenced but also definitely appropriate for the list)
the goslings (a newer band, also sometimes dipping into psychedelic waters)
unsane (i don't think i've listened to these guys since high school, but i'm going to trust my memory.)
hijokaiden (overrated, in my opinion, but definitely a good band)
the coughs (playing with these dudes and dudettes soon. can't forget them.)
fushitsusha (a little less rockin', but a necessary listen)
mindflayer (much more noise-oriented than LB)
parts & labor (they vary from time to time, but overall i'd fit them in)
wolf eyes (when they're not doing creeper jams)
acid mothers temple (i'd say some of the more searing AMT material would fall under this genre)
zeni geva (another i haven't heard in at least 7 years)
magik markers (even though i'm not terribly fond of them)
