Funny, I thought she was cute in a cute sort of way.
I've thought she's fucking gorgeous ever since seeing her in battle royale

I'm tempted, but what would tempt me more if they made figures of Kill Bill characters and replicas of the weapons.

Well, I saw it, and though Tarantino is not a favorite of mine, I absolutely enjoyed it.

Go Go Yubari is soooo cute. Can't wait for Part 2.

I saw a review of this movie on television at it said the reasons why stuff happens aren't explained until the sequel (and if I'm not mistaken it was also said that it's a trilogy), and it's mostly about shiny sticks and tomato sauce, so I'm probably going to skip this one.

THIS MOVIE SUCKED

because I have to wait until February for part two
I was so pissed that the didn't/couldn't release it all at once as soon as it was over I wanted MORE. I can't wait.

Proto,
I'm thinking about getting the soundtrack... is most of it done by RZA? I loved the spagetti western sound of most of the stuff.

all of Tarantino's work is derivative, but the way he pulls it off is amazing. I wasn't a huge fan of his other films mostly because of subject matter but I had high expectations of this one, and I definitely was not let down in the least.

Actually, very little of the soundtrack cd is by RZA, only like 2 or 3 tracks. Most of the music Tarantino pulled from other sources. But almost everything from the movie is there, except for a few songs...one being the music that played when the Bride was looking at the katanas, and I fucking LOVED that music.

other stuff from random places:

*The church scene was shot in the Mojave Desert outside of Lancaster, CA. Keep an eye out during this scene for a cameo by Samuel L. Jackson as a dead organ player and actor/director Bo Svenson as the preacher.

*Bill's "Deadly Viper Assassination Squad" are comprised of women bearing snake related codenames such as Black Mamba, Copperhead, Cottonmouth, and Sidewinder. These same names are given to members of the bad-guy group known as the Serpent Society, appearing in Captain America comic books.

thats all.

Honestly, can you really get a bigger part than being a vaguely visible dead guy in the background?

Haven't seen it. I'm going to wait until both volumes are out on DVD.

It sounds very promising, but I've heard that having it "split" really has an affect on the response to the movies altogether. Do you think your opinion (not if it was good or bad, but your overall reaction) would be different if you got to see all three hours at once?

Frankly at this point I'm kind of glad they split it. Because for one thing, I LOVE the anticipation. I love speculating on what's going to happen and imagining how things might turn out in my head. That's why a part of me will be slightly sad when Return of the King is finally out, because I enjoy having something like that to look foward to.

Secondly, the "end" of the movie is so beautifully put together, with the way things close out at the end of part one and then flow into the credits with the amazingly fitting music, I simply cannot imagine it continuing straight onward into part two without that break in between parts. The scenes that you see shortly before the credits roll really wouldn't have the same emotional weight if they were somewhere in the middle of a longer film.

Artisitically, I think he made a good choice. And I say that without even having seen part two.

I just think it's stupid for anyone NOT to see both of these movies in the theatre. It's fine to want to buy both on DVD, but do yourself a favor and see them in the theatre while you can.

I'm sure that there's the whole church scene with The Deadly Vipers that take out The Bride that will be explained in Vol. 2.

I love the Green Hornet spot on the soundtrack but was dissapointed when the song they played while The Bride was killing everybody while breakdancing.

Anyone know the song? Did anyone LOL like me when they saw it?

James...you really owe it to yourself to see this on the big screen. This was MEANT for big screen viewing. You'll see what I mean once you've seen it.

I've seen it twice already and I might be going back again on Friday.

Why is everyone worried about it being split up? Everyone was bitching about that on IMDB, as well as about how gay they are and how this is such a "lowbrow" movie.

Just see the damned thing and pretend there's no second part. I would not have minded at all if what we got now was the entire movie.
