With all the favorite/hated/overrated/arousing game lists as of late, I figured we could go for a Top 5 Console thread. List your Top 5 Consoles along with a few of your favorite games for said console. Don't have 5 favorites? Then post your Top 2 or whatever number that gets your juices flowing.

As for consoles that have most of my favorite games on them, I'd have to say either PS2 or SNES. As far as most hours racked up, PS1 or SNES. I spent well over 300 hours on my FF7 game, and close to as much on my FF3 game. So those games raelly made the system for me.

SNES - FF2 and 3, Mario RPG, Kirby Superstar, the DKCs
PS1 - FF7 and 9 (not 8 so much), the Crash Bandicoot iterations, Legend of Mana, Parasite Eve, Silent Hill, etc.
PS2 - Katamari, God of War, Ico, Silent Hill 2 and 3
NES - Crystalis, Faxanadu, Legacy of the Wizard, SMB
Gamecube - Eternal Darkness, RE4, Twilight Princess

1. PS2 for the biggest ammount of enjoyable gaming-time of all consoles I ever owned
2. Nintendo DS for being so small and convenient + nice game library
3. Snes for having such a good classic collection of games (of which 80% weren´t released here in germany, so it´s just 3rd place)

Gamecube and Nintendo 64 are the only consoles I have enough experience with to really form an opinion. Overall, I think I had more fun with the Nintendo 64, though the Gamecube has some damned fun games as well.
