Old Jun 4th, 2007, 05:30 PM        In search of a laptop. Any suggestions?
So, I'm looking myself a laptop but I don't know shit about computers in general. Therefore I'm asking if you guys could suggest me any specific brands/models. The laptop should match as much as possible with following requirements:
  • Reasonable price
  • Suitable for work, yet packs enough power to run games
  • trustworthy manufacturer
  • not too heavy
  • battery that won't run out in a second
Oh and I don't want a MAC, I prefer a PC. My friend told me that, for example, alienware's area-51 m5790 would be great laptop to have. Problem is that I've never heard of such a manufacturer as alienware and therefore I am a little suspicious. It also looks rather expensive. :/

So please, if you know any great laptops that would match with the requirements I listed, let me know.

Alienware was recently purchased by Dell, (not tooo recently, though.)

But if you want the best goddamn quality, go for Falcon Northwest's Fragbook.

Otherwise, Sony Vaios are nice, but I wouldn't go HP anything, be it Pavilion or otherwise. I've had too many problems with them.

If I was buying a laptop tomorrow I would almost certainly get one of these:

Or one of these if I didn't care about size:

You can't really go wrong with a core 2 duo and Nvidia 8 series GPU. Asus are a good manufacturer too.
