As I DON'T follow the hindu religion.

I just say I'm hindu because people assume I'm black, in hopes they see the difference.

Oh ok, I've just always had the though that you 're born into hindu religion, and there are certain rules you must obey wether you are religious or not.

Well we live in Canada.
My parents followed it more when they were younger.
But I grew up and follow the culture here.
Every once in a while I do some sort of hindu ceremony or whatever if someone dies or I visit family.
But that's the extent of my hindu-ness.

Well you could of said, I am of the same race as most of the population in India, or, I am of Indian heritage and it is prominently displayed in both my facial features and skin tone, or you could just say, I'm indian.
