Not the Bay is a bad player. He's still young and has an upside, and has proven himself in the majors. Factor in he's going to command less than Manny and the Sox might actually have made a good long term deal.

Manny hit .299 with an OBP of .398 and SLG of .529 as well as 20 HR and 68 RBI. Not sure what you consider "producing", but I think thats a damn good example of it.

I'm not disputing how good he is; I'm saying that he did not want to play in Boston and was intentionally sandbagging and missing time to get out of there. He would've been more harm had they not traded him.

The MOVE tragedy occurred about 23 years ago. I was living in W. Philly at the time, and the fire, while safely far away, was near enough to make my future in-laws collective basket cases.
