Hello Lamofchu. Want to take the guided tour? No? Ok let's start the guided tour! Do you want to continue? No? Ok, here we goCRASH
That's my windows impression. Thank you, come again I'll be here all week.
About your questions:
The Dirty Rotten Imbecilles were one of the first 'crossover' bands. This crossing over in this case, is between thrash metal and punk. What does this mean? It means socially conscious lyrics, down-to-earth attitude and a lot of atonal riffing and moshing. Mostly a hit-and-miss affair, but I do suggest "THRASH ZONE" as it is their best album I've heard of. For more information about D.R.I read the hilarious and also informative reviews of Mark Prindle here:

As I understand it, D.R.I are currently disbanded, and have in the passed suffered from some personnel changes.
Venom were a shock heavy metal band from the early eighties that couldn't play their instruments and sang about goats and satan. We owe the second big black metal wave to their fucking around with teenage-level occultism and pentagram-posturing. Their music is pretty much unremarkable and they seem to be pretty stupid people too. With that being said, some of their music isn't completely devoid of enjoyable qualities, but I do not suggest you pick anything up.
