I actually think they brought Koopa back for Double Dash, along with a Paratroopa.

A wee little question: How can Wart and Mouser exist in the real Mushroom Kingdom when they are just figments of Mario's imagination?

Because they're encased in special "dream cubes" that allow them to transcend the world of dreams. You can tell by the white boxes around them.

its a damn fun game, the two pilot system gets a little old, but it is quite possibly the funnest racing game i have ever played. The special cup tracks are amazing.

I want to see the old Toad from Mario Sunshine. Just because of the WACKY noises he made.

Those wacky noises in the background was your family being viciously tourtured in the other room.

No wonder why Immortal Goat hasn't showed up in awhile.

the dino track seems to be lifted from generic kart racer #1234r2, and baby park is a favorite for 4 player madness.

we need the cool music from mario kart (snes).

characters coming soon:

qeach (the evil Peach)
yoshette (female yoshi)
baby peach
the kings from smb3
dennis hopper koopa
el dafino kid
jumpman

Ok, so who else has played it so far? What are your thoughts on the game? How does it compare to the original SNES Mario Kart? I really want to try this game damnit.

Just got the game and it's great! They definitely kept the original mario kart style in there (though I'm sure there's still some new stuff I've gotta learn), but it's been a lot of fun so far. The courses are really really cool. And as expected, Koopa & Paratroopa as a team simply kick ass.

I can't wait to get a good multiplayer game of this going. Of course, it probably would help if I had more than one controller :o

I also talked the guy at the store into giving me one of the preorder copies that comes with the playable demo disc. I played the Ninja turtles demo all the way through. It seems like it could be fun with a bunch of other players all at once for a little while, but I don't think it's the kind of game that you'd come back to play again and again. The new F-Zero was pretty damned fun though, I'd definitely like to play more of that one.

Yeah we were talking about that the other day. Some day I will have 7 friends. And each of those 7 friends will have a t.v. And each of those 7 friends will have a GameCube. And each of those 7 friends will have Mario Kart. And each of those 7 friends will want to come over and setup a massive all-day-long Mario Kart Double Dash multiplayer festival of glee... all while drinking Slurpees and eating cheeb.

Yeah, thank God for LAN, right? Because it's just so damn convenient.

Just one question though. Do the battle mode maps suck as much ass as they have in the past?

We've got four controllers, Rog, so next time you're over we'll have to play with four people.

Awesome, cuz so far all I can do is race.

How much do standard gamecube controllers go for nowadays anyway? I really need to buy at least one more. And no, I refuse to buy any shitty third party brand ones. It has to be the official Nintendo brand one, just like the one that came with my cube.

$20. Though I bought mine when the Gamecube first came out, and it was like $45.

Both of my controllers are broken now becuase I left them up-side for too long. The analog stick tilts. I bought another one. It's orange.

I also higly recommend picking up one of these controllers for the games that don't need the analog stick.

It's not first party but it plays like it. Import only so it's about $26.

I'd get a Wavebird, Rog. I don't know how expensive they are these days, but we have two of 'em. They're exactly like the regular controllers except they're cordless (so they don't vibrate as a result, but hey, that doesn't bother me because it's fucking CORDLESS!)

Speaking of demos the Sonic Heroes one doesn't seem too bad. There's just a glitch or something so that everytime I run through this one loop I fall through it.

The Wavebird does kick ass. I picked it up for $30 when I got mine. Official Nintendo products only for Nintendo consoles that's for damn sure. Experience proves it.

I've never been big on cordless controllers, I just want the standard controllers. Nothing fancy, just the basic, cheap Nintendo controller. I can't wait to play this damned game with more than one player.
