Anybody bother spending the $35-$50 for those old school Transformers they seem to be selling nowadays? I've seen Starscream, Ultra Magnus, and Powermaster Optimus Prime and they seem to be actual metal resculpts of the old figures way back before they went Beast Wars or Armada or shit.

I'm thinking about it, but $35 for a Starscream?

No, bad idea.

Think about it - you'd never want to open the box!

Far better to buy a cheaper, loose, original example for less money off Ebay. Like me

Yeah, but wasn't the original Powermaster Optimus $50 when he first came out?

I've heard about these and they seem pretty cool. Expensive? Yes, but the truth of the matter is that Transformers are just fucking expensive. Even the new Armada ones are alot. Like $35 or $40 for Optimus Prime. Not that I would want him anyway, but still.

The reissues have me interested, though. I wonder if they'll reissue Soundwave?
