i must admit i'm not a democrat.. but i might have been if the dems hadn't sold out to big business to such an extreem.

people often take me for a democrat but that's just because they don't know much about the alternatives.. so much for an 'educated' public.

in the past i've campaigned for the greens, ross perot, and the greens in that order in the last 3 elections.. so, yes, i'm used to a protest vote and used to fighting a loosing battle.. /shrug

if the dems pick kucinich or sharpton ill convert to campaigning for them, but it's not likely.

I'm currently Kuccinich or Dean. I waited years for Kerry to run and then the bastard votes war authority to Bush. Even if he was for the war and he was not, I think that was a cowardly vote. It's like saying "Congress doesn't want to make that decission. It's just tooo much of a commitment one way or the other. You decide" I was deeply dissapointed.

I can't prove it, but if W had died choking on a pretzel, I don't think I'd be making fun of it at all. Aside from it being in poor taste, Chenney would have become president.

No, I laugh at the fact that the most powerful person on the planet was ALMOST brought down by a lowly Preztel. If you believe in the Lone Pretzel theory. I think it's pretty clear there was a Nacho chip on the grassy knoll.

Do I trust him? Absolutely not. I don't think I'd find anyone capable of being elected to a major office trustworthy in todays political climate.

Kucinich seem the most trustworthy to me, as far as that goes, and if he makes it to the Massachusetts primary I'll vote for him. Unfortunately, I don't see him going much further than that. Dean pays lip service to more of my issues than other candidates, and lip service sometimes translates into actions by a sort of lackluster osmossis.

Frankly, I cannot think of a single existing political figure I could get excited about. I think whoever the Democratic candidate turns out to be, energizing a vocal, articulate campaign is vital. Win or loose, if the opposition does not define itself, it's voice and it's rights I think we could all be in a great deal of trouble. So I'll swallow my bile and work for whichever one of these folks makes it through. But GOD I wish ONE DAMN TIME I could go to the polls with something other thann the lesser of two evils in mind.

i think there's more than a few people who have given up on
'lesser of two evils' . if dean or worse gets the ticket i hope to see people quit the dems to join the protest vote or third party campaigns

Kucinich is already as good as done, so he can't even count. Dean, like you said Max, pays more lip service than anthing else. Politicians from Vermont are odd.

Although I oppose Dean on his stance on the death penalty (he's supposedly in favor of it), I still se myself having a tough time choosing between him and (presumably) Nader. I won't rule out checking the platform of the Libertarian who runs, either.
