they don't care how it looks or plays as long as it sells. the fact that there are still a lot of sonic fans who belive a good sonic game is still a possibility, pretty much gives them their money back and enough profit to continue this parade of awfulness

Yeah im a sonic fan (old sonic cannot stress this enough) mainly because i've never played on a SNES system and the old games are simple without being crap. Ive never played anything Sonic since the Mega Drive was superceded (Mega Drive=Genesis)

The Sonic Advance series was pretty good. Playing a lot like sonic 2-3. So if you like the old games, you would probably like the advance ones.

Maybe the first advance...two was more like Sonic Rush in a way, and three was like Knuckles: Chaotix.

I was a Sonic fan, I even bought Sonic and the Secret Rings, which was shite, but there is no way in hell that I am disappointing myself again by buying this new tragedy.

Developer's excuses that they can't make a good Sonic game simply because of time and effort being too much, levels being too difficult to create etc etc are bullshit.

I think the werehog thing is Sonic Teams way of appeasing older fans who are always bitching about them adding new mascots. I don't think they think a 3-D Sonic game can be carried solely with Sonic game mechanics which is why they always feel they have to add something else; Tails/Shadow/Robotnik's vehicles, Rouge's scavenger hunt, etc, etc. So rather than add an entirely different anthropomorphic character they just turned Sonic into a were-something (watching videos on Youtube he seems to play more like a gorilla than anything else, he has huge, stretchy armstrong arms). Also notice in that future game it's Sonic holding the sword and not some other fuck.

To me, this game looks mediocre, maybe on par with the Adventure games, which is an enormous improvement over the last couple of games in the series. I think they took small step in the right direction.

It's not so easy to move on. This is a lot of peoples childhood/teenage years we are talking about. It's as if one day Transformers completely sucked (which, may not be too far away from happening after that new movie) and you just told everyone to move on and not expect them to bitch and moan about it. It's going to take some group therapy to sort this one.
