I finally got around to redoing the top menu of I-Mockery. There were a few issues with the old top menu that were bugging me:

1) The menu text was extremely small and it got lost in the mix of all that bright arcade background. So the text is now larger and much easier to read.

2) The menu items, while familiar for longtime I-Mockery readers, would probably confuse someone who just came to the site for the first time. So I changed "minimocks" to "features" and "visionary darkness" to "editorials" to help more accurately describe those two sections.

Hopefully this will make the site easier to navigate, especially for newcomers. Whaddaya think?

sudden change is frightening and confusing.

i'm very lucky the monitor was not damaged when the startlement of this change made me knock it off my desk.

Both "editorials" and "features" link to minimocks.

You're lucky your monitor didn't explode from the sheer AWESOMENESS of that menu. I mean really, never before has anything so beautiful been displayed on your screen. Your monitor is now going to be very depressed cuz it's obviously all downhill from this point onward. Way to go Ziggy... way to go...

Was it hard to read without the transparent gray bar behind the text? That's a little bit distracting.

Otherwise, I think the change is a good one. In fact, I've already forgotten how terrible the old one was.

Yeah it was a lot harder without it. I actually discussed it with several other designers I know and we were all in agreement that the transparent bar behind the text made a world o' difference.

If they still weren't officially referred to as Minimocks and Visionary Darkness I'd have to not talk to you ever again.

Other than that I think it's all right, although the other one was a lot better.

if I were to come to this site for the first time, I'd sooner click on "minimocks" and "visionary darkness" than "features" and "editorials." the former has flavor, the latter is boring.

They're almost too big.

Like I traded in my hip cool cell phone for one of those phones for the elderly with the big fucking buttons on it.

But strangly its growing on me. Or I'm getting older as I type this....DAMMIT CELLS STOP AGING!!

In all seriousness, I'm sticking with this menu for a little while and I'm gonna see if it has a positive effect on the site by checking the stats at the end of each month.
