Old Apr 15th, 2003, 09:11 PM        Nintendo food products?
Are there any old food products that you know of that Nintendo put out back in the day to promote the Nintendo Entertainment System? Any pics of candy, ice cream, meals, etc. I'm planning on updating the "Nintendo - Good, Bad, & The Ugly" piece soon and I was wondering if there was any other Nintendo food products out there since I already covered the soda and the cereal.

I seem to remember some kind of ice cream pops or somethin...

I sent you an e-mail a while back about some of this.

One that stands out to me was gummi candies (like all those other theme candy snacks you see in the supermarket). They were various shapes; I think Mario, Peach, Mushrooms, Bowser, Shy Guy, and a couple others.

They also had a contest, where if you found a blue Peach gummi, you won a grand prize or some shit.

If I had pics, or could find pics, I'd hook you up. But I hope the information helps.

I've already written up the mario suspenders (among other sad things) for this piece.

As for the gummy snacks, I looked everywhere and couldn't find a decent picture of them. The only ones I can find are for like the N64 or what have you, and this piece is only for the original NES system stuff...

I did receive a ton of suggestions from people the first time I did this piece... some good, some bad. I've done a few write-ups on them already.

I made a request on the StileProject Forums for a picture of the fruit snacks. Those guys can find anything. I also suggested that my request thread could eventually be turned into a Classic Nintendo Memorabilia thread once I get the picture (or maybe if I don't if nobody can help).

So hopefully that will turn up some useful information and images.

RoG,

are you planning on doing this piece within the next week? Because if you give me a week, I can actually send you those cheesy Mario/Link/Donkey Kong Jelly Pop thingies.

They're like suckers, but they're squishy. My mom refuses to let old traditions die and even though I'm almost 22, she still feels the urge to get me baskets for Easter and she had these in there.

Skulhedface, unless your mom has kept some Nintendo Jelly pops in the freezer since 1989, I doubt those are ones from the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). I'm only doing this piece on NES related stuff, not SNEs, N64, Gamecube, or whatever...

Thanks anyway though, I appreciate the offer.

To answer your other question, yes, this piece should be going up within the week... so anybody who's going to send me pics/suggestions should do so pretty soon.

Yeah, I even mentioned I found a handful of those sticker cards.

Rog, if you want/need, I could scan in a bunch of them.

By the way, the thread went nowhere. Make a thread about fat woman fucking horses, and it''ll be ten pages long before the hour's up. Ask for Nintendo products, and everyone sits around.

So nothing's changed on their forums then hahha... except you pay a one-time fee to join 'em. I love their site, but I'm just not interested in joining their forums. Thanks for trying though...

As for the sticker cards, thanks but I've already got pics of the cards that I needed... didn't need much.

Huh? The forums are free. Always have been.

Anyway, I put in four images from that link above, to get the ball roling. I ended up getting a picture of the cereal, and picture of Ghostbusters cereal, and someone telling me to fuck off. :/

Oh, and a photoshopped image of Vice City for the NES. :/

But other than that, the forums are a nice distraction every now and then.

Hey, I'm staying with my parents this week, I'll see if I can find that old bag of Super Mario musli mix I told you about a month and a half back. I'll go through my old junk and send you a pic in an hour or so if I can find it.

Old Apr 16th, 2003, 07:31 PM        Ice Cream
I remember when the ice cream truck use to come by my house years ago (like 10-12.. hell, maybe more then that) I'd buy these ice cream sandwiches that had SMB 2 characters on them. The only specific ones I remember are Mario, Mouser, and Wart. I think they only came in vanilla.

I tried to look them up, and I couldn't find them anywere, but I know I had them once.

If I come across anything I'll post it.

Oh I misread, I thought you were talking about SA's forums. I completely retract my statement about loving the site now that I know what you're talking about. fuck that hahaha. I could've told you they wouldn't be any help if I had read your post correctly. :/

Yeah I looked all over for that stuff, but couldn't find it anywhere, if you can send me a pic of it, that'd be great.
